Mississauga mortgage renewals and lender switches.
Mississauga publishes a Second Units Registry List that can help owners prepare a rental-income mortgage file. Use it as a starting point for an address check, not as evidence that a unit is vacant or that rent will qualify. For a condo renewal, the condominium's charges also belong in your household budget.
What matters in Mississauga
- Use Mississauga's current Second Units Registry rather than an old downloaded list. If the address or unit details do not match, ask the City for clarification before presenting the unit as registered.
- For a rented second unit, organize the registration evidence, signed lease and income records separately. A renewal switch or refinance is still subject to the new lender's rental-income treatment.
- If your Mississauga home is a condominium, include monthly condo fees and any known special assessment in the comparison. A lower mortgage payment does not remove those separate ownership costs.

These municipal resources explain property requirements, not mortgage eligibility. Confirm current rules for your address with the municipality; lender approval is a separate review.
